It is a group that includes people with dedicated green thumbs as well as those who are struggling to overcome
the feeling that they kill anything green.
New
Genealogy for Beginners Group
Have you often meant to try to find information about your grandfather’s family? When did his ancestors arrive in Canada
and from where? Many of the U W C members have done this and found it satisfying. This is a group for beginners but we
would certainly welcome members with experience in this area. Get togethers could be morning, afternoon or evening.
Evening
Girl’s Night Out
An evening out during the week for members, without significant others. Usually a dinner outing but we look at other
options. This group gives members an opportunity to spend an evening in the company of women friends and to have some
fun.
Daytime
Hiking Group
Tuesday mornings at 9:15. This group meets weekly, rain or shine to enjoy the great outdoors and many trails in our
region. We meet in the parking lot behind The Beer Store on Guelph Street.
Daytime
Hiking Group – Thursday Mornings
The group meets every Thursday morning at 9 A.M. at the Beer Store parking lot, rain or shine or wind or snow.
We then set out to hike and explore local parts of the Bruce Trail. The hikes last about 2 hours followed by an
optional get together for coffee. Longer hikes are planned periodically. The first meeting is Thursday, September 15th.
Evening
Investment Group
The club meets the third Thursday evening of each month. A $50.00 per month investment is required. Research of stocks,
an education program, visits to perspective companies, expert speakers and social evenings are all part of the activities.
The club has a constitution and regular attendance is expected. The first meeting is Thursday, Sept. 15th at 7:30 PM.
New
Issues Group
A new group. Our initial proposal is that that 10% of the proceeds from our scholarship fund be donated to an
international organization. The focus of the group will be to investigate various international charitable organizations
and present the findings to the general meeting. The meetings can be held days or evenings.
