District of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada

Island Lake is a sparkling gem amidst the vast Near North forests, secluded pristine lakes teeming with fish, and invigorating fresh air. The calling loons, sometimes hidden by a morning mist on the lake, the rugged yet picturesque islands and a shimmering, tranquil lake add up to a wilderness paradise.

Island Lake is indeed a lake of islands and hidden bays - one that invites exploration and creates a sense of awe. The dominating feature - the exposed rock left barren by the  receding Wisconsin Glacier  combined with the mixed and coniferous tracts of forest, abundant plant and wildlife are an elixir for the soul. Surrounding forests, ravaged elsewhere, have been left uncut for 75 years.

Wildlife species include: moose, whitetail deer, black bear, mink, marten, fox, wolves, turkey vultures, hawks, hummingbirds, songbirds, and many other species. The abundant plant life / flora includes several uncommon species - rare elsewhere in Ontario. Island Lake and the many nearby walk-in & fly-in back lakes offer some of Ontario's best remote bass fishing opportunities.
